-

JON HARRIS Age: 21. Hometown: Florissant, Mo. Position: Pitcher. Throws: Right. Bats: Right. College: Missouri State University. The Skinny: Was drafted in the first round (29th overall) of this month’s Major League Baseball draft by the parent Toronto Blue Jays. Expected to start tonight’s home opener at The Nat, but likely won’t be with the C’s for long. EARL BURL III Age: 21. Hometown: New Orleans. Position: Centre field. Throws: Right. Bats: Right. School: Alcorn State University. The Skinny: Drafted in 30th round by the Blue Jays in this month’s draft, Burl surely has the best name on the team. He also has some lofty ambition. He plans on becoming a lawyer if this baseball thing doesn’t work out. CLINTON HOLLON Age: 20. Hometown: Lexington, Ky. Position: Pitcher. Throws: Right. Bats: Right. School: Woodford County (Kentucky) High School. The Skinny: Second-round pick of the Jays in 2013, Hollon missed all of last season following Tommy John surgery. Pitched five shutout innings as the C’s opening night starter in 11-2 win over Salem-Keiser. ANDREW CASE Age: 22. Hometown: Saint John, N.B. Position: Pitcher. Throws: Right. Bats: Right. School: Prairie Baseball Academy (Lethbridge). The Skinny: Yes, the Canadians have a Canadian on their roster. Two of them, in fact. Case, a returning player, is joined this season by fellow pitcher Sean Ratcliffe (see below) of Ajax, Ont. Case made 24 appearances, all but one of them in relief, last season with the C’s. SEAN RATCLIFFE Age: 20. Hometown: Ajax, Ont. Position: Pitcher. Throws: Right. Bats: Left. School: Pickering (Ont.) High School. The Skinny: An 18th-round pick of the Blue Jays in 2013, Ratcliffe is a former member of Canada’s national junior team. Pitched four shutout innings of relief in his first two appearances with the Canadians this season.
