Woman charged over bridge crash

A 30-year-old Surrey woman has been charged following a multiple-vehicle crash on the Pattullo Bridge last summer. New Westminster police say Jillian Bodner has been charged with three counts, including dangerous driving, impaired driving, and driving while over .08 blood-alcohol level. On Aug. 6, 2015, Bodner was travelling northbound in a burgundy sedan over the Pattullo Bridge when she crossed over the centre pylon dividers and collided with more than 30 oncoming vehicles. She continued driving before coming to a stop after hitting a concrete barrier. Witnesses described the car as driving straight up the centre-line of the bridge, flattening divider pylons as vehicles travelling in both directions swerved to get out of the way. No one was seriously hurt.
