Husband pleads to hit-and-run driver

-

The husband of a woman killed in a Surrey hit-and-run last week made an emotional plea Tuesday for the driver of the vehicle to report to police. Vincent Belcourt said he and his wife Josie, both employees at the Lookout Emergency Aid Society in Vancouver, were in the process of moving out of a trailer park in Surrey to a home in Vancouver when tragedy struck. Josie Belcourt, 57, was crossing King George Boulevard near 83 Avenue at about 6:45 a.m. on March 14 when she was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle did not stop and a second vehicle, which stopped, was also involved. Since then, the Surrey Criminal Collision Investigation Team has determined the suspect vehicle is a 2010 or 2011 grey Honda CRV. “You didn’t mean to kill my wife, but it was a cowardly act to go and run,” Belcourt said at a news conference.
