It’s Easter weekend, so head out and enjoy it with your family.

There’s plenty to do in Metro Vancouver, with Easter egg hunts, brunches, train rides, teas and other events for both parents and kids.

A great starting point is the Stanley Park Miniature Train, which becomes the Easter Train today, Sunday and Monday runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. After the ride, children get to hunt for eggs, have their faces painted, meet the Easter Bunny and play games. The train also runs through an Easter-themed forest.

Another Vancouver option is Bloedel Conservatory’s Tropical Easter Hunt for children aged two to 10, today and Sunday from 10 to 5 p.m. VanDusen Garden’s famous Easter Hunt Saturday is sold out.

Over on the North Shore, Lonsdale Quay Market and Cobs Bakery are hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon. Along with the hunt itself, there’ll be cookie decorating, crafts, face painting, balloon twisting and, of course, the Easter Bunny. Kids will hunt for five different-coloured eggs on the market’s retail level and then receive an Easter egg treat bag after handing in the empty plastic eggs.

In Surrey today, there’s the Easter Fair at the Surrey Museum between 1 p. m. and 4 p. m. where children cannot only participate in Easter festivities but get up close with rescue animals from rabbits to cats and dogs and birds. Local animal rescue groups will be on site teaching children and their parents about respectful treatment and care for animals and there will be a special guest appearance not only by the Easter Bunny (again), but the Vancouver Rabbit Agility Club which will show off their athletic bunnies at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. in the museum’s plaza.

In Burnaby, there’s the Grandparent and Family Easter Egg Hunt today from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bonsor 55-plus Centre. It costs $1.86 per child, and children from 17 months to 10 years of age must be accompanied by a grandparent. In Richmond, the London Heritage Farm is hosting a tea today in its Tea Room for parents while kids can participate in an Easter Egg Hunt in the Heritage Gardens. The event runs from noon to 5 p.m.
