Grizzly hunt is not right

B.C. Liberals disrespectful of bears’ lives

Here in British Columbia, we have a quarter of the remaining grizzlies in North America. They are majestic and iconic — people come here from all over the world to view them in the wild.

The B.C. Liberals’ shameless trophy hunt of our grizzly bears is opening for spring when bears emerge from their winter dens dozy and hungry. It is not right, especially in consideration of the many challenges these animals face, that our government is so disrespectful of their lives. On the one hand their images are used in Destination B.C. TV ads to attract tourists, while on the other hand, they allow them to be mercilessly shot at with guns and arrows for no better reason than a head or hide to hang on a wall.
