Let Hadid’s legacy inspire local architects for new gallery design
Re: Pritzker Prize-winning architect Hadid renowned for creativity, April 4
The sudden death of the famous architect Dame Zaha Hadid creates a void in the field of modern architecture. A very gifted trailblazer, she leaves behind a breathtaking body of work renowned for its flowing elegance and intense beauty.
As a Vancouverite I would hope our local architects will seriously look into Zaha’s legacy as a source of inspiration and submit a better model for the new Vancouver Art Gallery than the hideous maquette under consideration.
Our cherished city deserves nothing less than a graceful and attractive building for the arts in the eye-popping style of Zaha Hadid. Eddy A. Elia, Vancouver
