1. Jason Day

No scoop here. The hottest player in the world is a great driver, long, and is putting with confidence. That’s the whole package.

2. Phil Mickelson

It’s Augusta, and even when he’s playing lousy golf, Phil is a top-10 machine here. T-2 last year. Never count him out.

3. Bubba Watson

If his sinuses co-operate, the twotime champ should manage to shoot his way into the mix, and then look out. He can close the deal.

4. Henrik Stenson

He’s been due for several years. Current best player never to have won a major. Playing some of his best golf right now.

5. Rory McIlroy

Great, and greatly erratic, this is the one he really wants, perhaps too badly, but he has everything needed to get it done.

6. Justin Rose

Despite a pretty good/nothing special start to his season, he plays well here and has led or shared after a lot of Masters rounds.

7. Jordan Spieth

The defending champ’s game has been a little ragged from overuse, but memories will come back quickly if he gets a sniff.

8. Adam Scott

These greens will be the biggest challenge yet to his putting stroke, but the sweet-swinging 2013 winner has been building to this week.

9. Charl Schwartzel/Louis Oosthuizen (entry)

One of these South African pals is going to take a run at this, we’re just not sure which one. Both playing great golf.

10. Rickie Fowler

Still a major winner-in-waiting, he’s ever on the cusp. Could get a stern talking-to if he wears those ankle-huggers here, though.
