Throwback acts set to rock festival

The 1990s didn’t die, they’re headlining the Pemberton Music Festival.

Pearl Jam, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Cypress Hill are among the Generation X acts commanding the mainstage during the four-day (July 14-17) music festival.

Also on the bill are J. Cole, Kaskade, Bassnectar, Wiz Khalifa, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Billy Idol (!!!).

Cheech & Chong, Craig Robinson, and Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson are among the top attraction­s on the festival’s comedy stage.

With Early Bird tickets having sold out so quickly, a limited sup- ply of Advance General Admission tickets will be available this Friday at 10 a.m. at www.pembertonm­usicfestiv­al.com.

Tickets for the 2016 festival start at $295, plus a choice of either a camping pass (which accommodat­es up to four people) at $199 or shuttle pass (for festival patrons staying in nearby Whistler) at $99. For campers who choose to drive, parking passes are available at $29 per car.

Last year’s event drew more than 115,000 fans and featured nearly 120 performanc­es by 113 artists over four days.

In addition, the festival donated more than $100,000 in grants to arts organizati­ons in the Pemberton community.
