AN ALARMING SURGE

At least 1,634 people were executed in 25 countries in 2015, Amnesty International has reported. ThatÕs a 50 per cent increase from 2014 Ñ and the highest number for 25 years. The increase is due to three countries: Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Here are the countries ranked by the number of people executed in 2015. There is no data available for Vietnam and North Korea.
