Sketchy characters prompt rejection of public transit

-

I ride the bus (either #14 or #16) every morning from Pine and Broadway to my work on Powell. It is always particularly bad on the bus with sketchy characters from downtown Granville to Hastings and Main, but this morning was the end for me. A guy lay in front of the exit door with a bunch of his stolen stuff around him (with pricetags still on!) and people had to step over him. I told him to move and he said he didn’t care. I alerted the driver and he told him he had to move or he would park the bus. The guy eventually moved, but then another sketchy guy came on the bus at the front and threw up. I am tired of public transit being used by people who don’t pay, are abusive, transport stolen goods, and vomit.

I want to be green and support shared transit, but I’ll be driving my car every day now. Goodbye TransLink. Rob Cameron, Vancouver
