‘PENT-UP DEMAND’ CREATES A BUZZ

Hundreds register early interest in project from Epic Homes, an uncommon new single-family offering in East Langley

- JODIE WARREN

Those seeking a quiet, family-oriented community close to nature, yet still accessible to all the conveniences of an urban lifestyle will now have a rare opportunity to buy a new single-family home in East Langley.

This fall, Epic Homes will be launching Bertrand Creek, a collection of 61 single- family home sat 28 th Avenue and 275 A Street. Surrounded by nature on all sides, including the extensive, lushly forested Bertrand Creek trail system, and close to important amenities such as schools, grocery stores and restaurants, and the soon-to-be-open Aldergrove Leisure Centre, Bertrand Creek is also within easy access of major arteries, five minutes from the U.S. border and 12 minutes from the Abbotsford Airport.

“Bertrand Creek has a very nice, quiet, natural setting, with a lot of cul-de-sacs and greenbelt,” says Ryan Connolly, general manager for Epic Homes. “We think the community will appeal primarily to young couples and families, but we are also seeing interest from empty nesters looking to purchase a new home.

“It’s also very well situated,” he adds. “There are great schools right down the street, and great access to transit and shopping.”

A key feature of the community will be a pedestrian bridge, which will link the neighbourhood to an extensive trail network in Bertrand Creek wetlands being developed by Eric Homes. “Having easy access to the creek was a key feature that we wanted to include ,” says Con nolly .“The new bridge will allow all of our residents to easily enjoy this beautiful area, with its miles of majestic maples and cedars, lagoons and meadows.” So critical was the bridge component to the community that it served as inspiration for the development’s logo (see advertisement).

Connolly notes that there are already hundreds of names on the priority registrations list for Bertrand Creek due to pent-up demand. “There has been very little single-family construction in the East Langley area due to development constraints, so it’s quite unique to have new homes available here,” he explains.

The community will offer three plans, all of which will have a minimum of three bedrooms, with some having a fourth or bonus room. Ten-foot ceilings, oversized windows and great-room plans on the main floors will give the homes an open, airy feel. Most of the homes will also have full basements for future expansion opportunities. Connolly says Epic Homes is thrilled to be working in Langley for the first time and looks forward to continuing to build on its reputation as one of the Fraser Valley’s most reputable single-family home builders. “In the past 15 years since the company was founded, we have built hundreds of homes, mainly in Maple Ridge area, and we pride ourselves on the fact that all of our employees and tradespeople are local,” says Connolly. “We look forward to showcasing our commitment to single-family home building excellence through Bertrand Creek and other future residential communities in the area.”

Construction of the first homes at Bertrand Creek has already started, with the community officially opening the doors of its presentation centre on Sept. 24, when the first show home will also be available for tours. For more information and to register, visit: http:// bertrandcreek.com
