Only public schools accept everyone

Re: Column ‘made me cringe,’ letters, Oct. 25

I agree with the reader that Christy Clark may have valid safety concerns for enrolling her son in private school. But when she gives another reason — that perhaps her son faces special challenges — her musings become ridiculous. Many private schools, specifically the one Ms. Clark’s son attends, don’t accept students with special challenges. The public schools are the ones that accept everyone, which is why they need all those dollars that go to private schools. Rosa Apperley, Vancouver
