UPC: 08001660104758 A cool, wet, late vintage by global warming standards, 2013 was saved by fine weather in the end. Modus is a modern, super-Tuscan affair mixing 34/33/33 Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The attack is weighty, showing the Cabernet and Merlot, and a smoky, savoury, dark fruit and tapenade character. A richer, fatter version of Chianti Classico, but then it is an IGT Toscana. Try this with a mushroom or beef pasta. Good value.
