MORNING STAR HOMES RELEASES SECOND PHASE AT PACIFIC HEIGHTS

- BY JODIE WARREN

The grand opening for Morningstar’s Pacific Heights pre-sales event was met with gusto by hundreds of families interested in a home at this highly sought-after location. In just two hours, the first phase of luxury homes was sold, leaving Morningstar with no other choice than to release some more.

“We are thrilled with the response from our pre-sale launch this past weekend,” says Deborah Calahan, Morningstar’s vicepresident of sales and marketing, adding that she is not surprised that the homes went so quickly. “After we completed our Southwood Project in South Surrey, many people who had missed an opportunity to purchase there asked us when we would be back,” she recalls. She notes that strong interest in Pacific Heights, a collection of 30 luxury single-family homes just a few blocks away at 168th Street and 18th Avenue, was evident from “day one”.

“From the moment that we placed the ‘coming soon/pre-register’ sign on the property, pre-registrations started pouring in,” says Calahan.

Morningstar is known for its beautifully appointed showhomes, but with Pacific Heights there simply wasn’t time to build them, given the immediate demand. “Due to the overwhelming response, we decided to launch a pre-sale instead and give people an opportunity to see the plans, design, interiors and location,” explains Calahan. “People recognize our brand and trust that we will build a good home, our reputation depends on it.”

There are many draws to the project, which will be built on a beautiful plot of sloping land that is surrounded by the beauty of both mountains and ocean. Featuring West Coast-inspired design, the three-levelhomesare built to a lux- ury level, starting at 3,400 square feet, with four or five bedrooms, attached double garages and fully finished basements. Like all Morningstar developments, homes in Pacific Heights will feature topend finishes: quartz countertops, hardwood flooring, Grohe fixtures, stand-alone bathtubs and high-end stainless steel appliances. There are also many additional special touches, such as vaulted ceilings and window seats in dining rooms and master bedrooms.

“These extra touches make the space feel very custom,” notes Calahan. “Today’s buyers are looking for a home to truly live in. They are using their homes for everything – entertaining, raising families and working. People are doing very creative things these days with their homes and with the plans at Pacific Heights, theywill have the space to do it.”

All in an enviable location that makes you feel away from it all and yet still close to every possible amenity. Enjoy a seaside walk at Crescent Beach and Ocean Park. Or grab a bite and do some shopping at Morgan Crossing and Grandview Corners. For more family fun, there’s also the new state-of-the-art recreational facility, the Grand view Heights Aquatic Centre.

“Many of our prospective buyers are from South Surrey and want to remain here because they have family living in the area and because they want to be able to continue to access all that South Surrey has to offer,” says Calahan.

Morningstar plans to start construction in March, with the first occupancies slated for late 2017. From that point, homes will be released monthly until construction concludes in early summer 2018.
