Viva Las Vegas.

Winnipeg Jets right wing Patrik Laine, Toronto Maple Leafs centre Auston Matthews and Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Zach Werenski are the three finalists for the Calder Trophy, the NHL revealed on Thursday.

The trophy will be handed out at the 2017 NHL Awards in Las Vegas on June 21, the same day the expansion draft will be held for the Vegas Golden Knights.

It was an incredibly deep class of rookies, with William Nylander and Mitch Marner of the Maple Leafs, Matthew Tkachuk of the Calgary Flames, Sebastian Aho of the Carolina Hurricanes and goalie Matt Murray of the Pittsburgh Penguins not making the cut for the finalists.

Matthews, a 19-year-old from Scottsdale, Ariz., is widely seen as the frontrunner after putting up 40 goals and 69 points while suiting up in all 82 games, averaging 17:37 of ice time.

Werenski, 19, from Grosse Pointe, Mich., was third in rookie assists with 35 and seventh in rookie points with 47 in 78 games while averaging a rookie-best 20:54 of ice time per game.

Laine, from Tampere, Finland, turned 19 on Wednesday. He was second among rookies in goals (36) and points (64) while averaging 17:54 of ice time in 73 games.
