DAMIAN ‘JR. GONG’ MARLEY

-

Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley is the youngest son of Bob Marley, whose genes were so powerful and musical he sired seven reggae artists. (He had eight children total. But one of them, presumably the rebel, decided to play football instead.) Damian Marley, whose nickname is derived from his father’s Tuff Gong moniker, has been performing since the age of 13. He’ll be at the Commodore Tuesday as he tours in support of his fourth studio album, Stony Hill, released on July 21. It’s his first album in a dozen years, but according to the critics, the youngest Marley hasn’t missed a beat. That’s little surprise, of course — he’s reggae royalty. The beat’s in his blood.

When: Sept. 26, 9 p.m. Where: Commodore Ballroom Tickets and info: livenation.com
