WORD VANCOUVER: FESTIVAL DAY
Word Vancouver, a free, six-day festival of reading and writing, began on Sept. 19. But the big event is festival day on Sunday, taking place in and around the central branch of the Vancouver Public Library. Attendees can enjoy free readings, panel discussions, writing workshops, site performers, family activities, an exhibitor marketplace, and more all-ages fun. Canadian authors, as well as book, magazine, comics, education, and literacy exhibitors will be on hand to celebrate the region’s thriving literature and literacy communities. There will be something called Circus Lab, with roving characters riding unicycles and performing other acrobatic activities.
