GIRL BAND LEADER CROSSES BORDER IN OLYMPIC MISSION
The head of a hugely popular North Korean girl band crossed the heavily fortified border into South Korea on Sunday as part of an official delegation, triggering a media frenzy as she checked potential venues for performances during next month’s Winter Olympics.
Appearing live on South Korean television, Hyon Song Wol, pictured, didn’t speak when she walked past crowds before boarding a train for the city of Gangneung, where the art troupe she also leads is to perform during the Pyeongchang Olympics.
