MUD BAY — CELEBRATING 40 YEARS!

One of the bright spots in the local music scene has been the Byrd at the Flamingo Hotel booking bands. To say that the burgeoning borough of Surrey is underserved with live music venues is a gross understatement, and now it’s got a classic spot with character to go too.

Better yet, it’s easily served by transit. This weekend, the roots-rocking boogie of Mud Bay rides in on a tide of groove and grit. The veteran B.C. band has recently celebrated four decades of kicking out the jams — sometimes long, jammy ones — around the province.
