CANADIANS AT A GLANCE

-

Riley Wheeldon kicked off his eighth year playing on the Mackenzie Tour with a strong showing, leading the way for the Canadian contingent. The Comox resident fired a final round 70 to wrap up his week at -10.

While Wheeldon was low Canadian for the tournament, Aaron Cockerill shot the low round of the final day among the Canucks in action, posting a five-under 67, while Edmonton’s Andrew Funk joined Cockerill at 5-under for the tournament, ending his four-day run in Vancouver with a 1-under 71 on Sunday.

Jared du Toit of Kimberley had it as low as minus-3 at one point during his round on Sunday, but gave those back on the way in, posting a bogey on 16 and a doublebogey seven on the 18th, while Vancouver’s Ryan Williams carded a 3-under 69 to wrap up his week at Point Grey and finish the tournament at even par.

Richmond Hill, Ont.’s Taylor Pendrith was the lone Canadian to finish above par, delivering a 2-over 74 for a four-round score of four-over. Jimmy Jones, son of the late Dawn Coe-Jones, withdrew before the start of the final round; he shot a 78 on Saturday.
