Police find body of Surrey swimmer

Coquitlam RCMP said Thursday morning that the body of a 19-year-old Surrey man who went missing while swimming with friends in Buntzen Lake two days earlier had been found and recovered from the water. The body was found Wednesday around 6 p.m. at a depth of about 40 metres, about 100 metres from the shore. Police say there is no indication of foul play. About 20 search-and-rescue members and two boats were sent out to search for the swimmer. An RCMP dive team was later called in to help search for the body.
