Human remains found in waters off Tofino
The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating after human remains were found in the waters off Tofino on Wednesday. The coroner’s service is in the early stages of its investigation and the body hasn’t yet been identified, said Andy Watson, a spokesman for the coroner’s service. Watson said it’s too early to confirm if the body is one of the three men who went missing after their boat capsized near Tofino’s Duffin Cove on June 15. A forensic pathologist will conduct DNA testing this week to determine the deceased person’s identity, Watson said.
