CHIC-AND-EASY HAIRSTYLES TO TRY ON THE FIRST DAY

- ALEESHA HARRIS Aharris@postmedia.com

Stuck for how to wear you hair on the first day back at school? Well, not anymore.

We asked hair expert Veronika Sorek, a senior stylist for Marc Anthony Professional, to create a chic-and-easy hairstyle for the back-to-school season. And, instead, she created three.

Here’s how to re-create the looks on your own hair at home.

LOOK 1: SMOOTHED OUT WAV E S

1. Wash your hair and finish with conditioner to assist in smoothing out the look from the start

2. Comb out damp hair using a leave-in conditioner such as Marc Anthony’s Bye Bye Frizz Leave in Conditioner.

3. Blow dry hair smooth using a paddle brush, then follow with a 1/4-inch curling wand curling hair away from the face in 1 inch sections

4. Using a small drop of serum, such as Marc Anthony’s Bye Bye Frizz Serum, in the palm of the hand, run through hair to smooth any fly-aways

LOOK 2: TOP-PONY

1. Tussle waves — second-day hair is great for this — with Marc Anthony Grow Long Texture Spray. If you want a little more volume at the root, try the Marc Anthony Coconut Dry Conditioner.

2. Section the top portion of your hair, temple to temple, and wrap hair securely with an elastic band, taking a small section of hair to wrap around the pony and hide the elastic. Use a bobby pin to secure.

3. Finish the look with some hairspray.

LOOK 3: LOW MESSY BUN

1. Use Marc Anthony Coconut Dry Conditioner, starting at the roots, and brush hair through.

2. Section hair into three even sections and braid into a single braid, loosening the braid as you go. 3. Twist the braid upward and under, pinning to secure. 4. Finish off with Marc Anthony Coconut Dry Styling Oil to smooth.
