Club Monaco teams up with local firm for capsule line
When two Canadian brands come together, it’s pretty much guaranteed that great things are going to happen. Case in point: The latest collaboration between Club Monaco and Reigning Champ.
The two companies have teamed up to create an exclusive capsule range featuring unisex designs that highlight Club Monaco’s heritage crest from 1985.
“Club Monaco was born in Canada and we’re incredibly proud to celebrate that heritage with Reigning Champ, another iconic Canadian brand,” Steven Cateron, head of design at Club Monaco, said in a news release.
The five-piece capsule, which is crafted at Reigning Champ’s factory in Vancouver, features two T-shirt designs, as well as three sweatshirt offerings in oh-so wearable colours.
We caught up with Craig Atkinson, the CEO of Reigning Champ, to ask him three questions about this True North fashion collaboration:
Q Reigning Champ has partnered with several high-profile brands in the past. What made Club Monaco a fit?
A The heritage crest was a staple for many in Canada, and the idea of marrying this iconic print with our sweatshirts just makes for a great product.
Q How do you choose the brands you work with?
A We like to work with brands that have a passion for product. If two brands come together and can create something new that feels right, then I think it’s worth exploring. Our process is very honest and organic.
Q How do you think this collection will resonate with your fan base?
A I think this project comes from an authentic place and the customers recognize that.
