Whistler’s Holiday Aura

- GINA NOELLE DAGGETT

Are you looking for an amazing culinary experience in Whistler this joyous season?

If so, check out Nita Lake Lodge. Their restaurant, Aura, is serving up some new, mouthwatering winter menus, all sprinkled with festive cheer.

Aura’s tagline, “fresh, modern, lakeside,” should be expanded to include inventive, inspired, and delicious. Aura’s new menu has a little something for everyone.

For starters, PEI lobster and brandy bisque, bubbling with umami, will leave you licking your bowl. Beyond that, yellowfin and BC salmon poke, and their AAA beef tenderloin carpaccio will wow your taste buds.

Executive Chef James Olberg and his team cook in an open-concept kitchen, which matches the vibe in the beautifully renovated Whistler-chic dining room. The Aura team gives each dish great attention to detail.

Through the heart of the holidays, Aura is taking it up a notch, expanding the menu to offer even more deliciousness. From December 21 to January 4, holiday highlights include pan-seared scallops, Quebec foie gras, BC Dungeness crab gnocchi and Australian rack of lamb.

For Christmas Eve/Day, Santa will be serving up a seven-course experience. The festive menu delivers a selection of dishes, including an organic turkey duo, sous vide and confit, with walnut cranberry stuffing—the perfect holiday feast.

Looking for a way to ring in 2019? Grab your party hat and enjoy Aura’s eleven-course tasting menu for NYE. It’s packed with dishes like tuna poke, oysters and apple-brined pheasant. The decadence is paired with wines and celebratory bubbles!

Nita Lake Lodge has decked the halls delightfully this year—it’s like walking into a Christmas fairytale. Fill your spirit with the magic of the holidays!
