HOTEL ESTHEREA, AMSTERDAM
After travelling for 54 years this is by far my best hotel experience as it immersed me in Amsterdam’s history and provided so much beyond my expectations.
A very welcoming hotel, which evolved through family history in the 1940s and whose current generation own in central Amsterdam.
It’s location provides the best walking distance to all the major attractions, the ship dock plus train station and is on the main canal for interesting views.
We disembarked early morning from a cruise and staff stowed our luggage at registration with check-in set at 3 p.m.
They also provided brochures and ideas for us until our checkin time.
We walked a couple of blocks to the hop-on-hop-off bus station which transfers to the hop-onhop-off canal boats and the next four plus hours passed quickly.
Dining provides in-housefresh-organic meals, the bar is inviting, and the library has a computer and free Wi-Fi access.
The rooms were renovated, with high-quality finishings and comfortable bedding, with full amenities including a provided cellphone with free international calling — a first for us.
