HOMEWOOD SUITES BY HILTON SEATTLE

- Jane Pratt

This is the hotel we return to every time we go to Seattle. It isn’t high end or fancy but provides good value, cleanliness and a comfortable bed and room.

It is located on Pike Street, next to the convention centre, for easy access to The Northwest Garden Show in February, nine blocks walk through downtown to Pike Place Market and Seattle Art Museum and 15-minute walk to Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley.

They have free breakfasts daily, with Starbucks coffee and tea and free dinner with wine Monday to Thursday. Dinner I must add is a light buffet adequate but no big affair.

The rooms are clean, tidy and organized and the staff are terrific.

The decor is modern Art Deco with turquoise carpet and beigebrocade drapes.
