Pedes­tri­ans in se­ri­ous con­di­tion af­ter crash sends car into their path

Two pedes­tri­ans were taken to hospi­tal in se­ri­ous con­di­tion af­ter a two-car crash caused one of the ve­hi­cles to hit them.

Sur­rey RCMP say the pair were at 148th Street and Fraser High­way when a crash be­tween a Ford and an Acura in the in­ter­sec­tion sent one of the ve­hi­cles into their path, strik­ing them.

The man and woman, both 50, were taken to hospi­tal in se­ri­ous con­di­tion af­ter the crash, which hap­pened Satur­day at about

6:35 p.m.

Both driv­ers stayed at the scene and are co-op­er­at­ing with in­ves­ti­ga­tors, said Sur­rey RCMP Sgt. Tyler Wick­ware in a news re­lease late Satur­day.

Wick­ware said al­co­hol and drugs aren’t be­lieved to be fac­tors in the crash.
