After a year long hard fought battle with gallbladde­r cancer, it is with heartbreak­ing sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved Benito Manzo. Predecease­d by his parents Raffaela and Michele and 14 siblings in Italy. Left to mourn with broken hearts; his devoted wife of 57 years, Adele. Their four adoring children; Aldina Graziano, Raffaela (Frank) Weima, Aniello “Nello” (Diane) Manzo, Maria (Ken) Michayluk and Nonno Benny’s treasured grandchild­ren; Nicholas (Katrina), Carlo (Diora), Tiana, Adelina, Juliana, Montana, Benito Jr., Bianca and Bronson. Benito was born in Sarno, Salerno Italy and was the youngest of 18 siblings, survived by his brothers Armando Manzo, Aniello (Maria) Manzo and sister Elena Adiletta of Italy. He was a trusted brother-in-law to Bernadina (Domenico) Liguori, Stella (Santino) Esposito, Giusepina Murano, Giuseppe (Clorinda) Crescenzo, Antonio (Elizabeth) Crescenzo, Salvatore (Vivian) Crescenzo and was the fun loving Zio to many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and USA. He was a true friend to his cousins, specifical­ly the Crescenzo, Renzullo and Pizzolon families. He establishe­d long time relationsh­ips with his AJ Forsythe co-workers, his many friends and neighbours throughout his life in Salerno, East Vancouver, North Burnaby and his vacation home in Palm Springs. He will be sorely missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known this very special man. Viewing to take place on Thursday, February 14th from 6:00-8:00pm at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby. Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, February 15th at 11:00am at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 3860 Triumph Street, Burnaby. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby.
