Dek: Soaring tower to be Wall Financial’s second residential project at Wesbrook Village

In a relatively short space of time, Wesbrook Village at the University of British Columbia has become a genuine urban hub, a thriving mixture of trendy shops and restaurants arranged in an intricate, pedestrian-friendly manner reminiscent of the best European cities – where amenities, residences and the massive nearby green space of Pacific Spirit Park exist in harmony.

Wesbrook is one of the most desirable neighbourhoods on Vancouver’s west side, and this is keenly appreciated by Wall Financial Corporation, developer of the new Ivy on the Park residential development. Ivy on the Park will not only be a striking new addition to Wesbrook Village’s residential portfolio, but also offer prospective buyers the best value per square foot in this part of Vancouver.

Mimi Chau PREC, sales manager at Ivy on the Park, notes that it is the second residential development for Wall Financial at Wesbrook Village. “The first was Binning Tower, which was extremely well received for its high quality of design and construction. Ivy on the Park seeks to improve upon every aspect that made Binning Tower a success.”

Groundbreaking on Ivy on the Park is imminent, and the project is already generating considerable excitement for providing much-needed new homes in this exclusive neighbourhood. But Wall Financial has also gone to considerable time and effort to ensure that the tower’s appeal will be timeless.

For starters, it engaged Perkins+Will, a multi-disciplinary architectural firm with over 30 years of experience in Canada, to design the building, which appears to pedestrians as a soaring tower of bold vertical and horizontal lines, with floor-to-ceiling glazing imparting a light, airy ambience.

At the base, a row of two-storey townhomes that open onto a semi-private courtyard stand out with their grey brick facades, dark aluminum accents and notes of warm wood. A dedicated driveway with landscaping leads owners and guests to a light-filled lobby with contemporary wood panelling, textured stone walls and sculptural black metal accents. A modern linear fireplace and chandeliers, along with intimate seating areas, create focal points within the space.

The homes themselves exhibit the high degree of design elegance and functionality for which Wall Financial is renowned. The floor plates are enhanced by open layouts and expansive windows, and oak engineered hardwood flooring is evident throughout. The kitchens feature European-style cabinetry paired with stone countertops, augmented by premium appliances, including a gas stove and built-in speed and convection ovens, as well as (in select homes) a built-in wine refrigerator.

Engineered polished quartz countertops adorn the ensuite and main bathrooms, which are also outfitted with frameless glass shower enclosures and large-format porcelain tile lining the shower walls, base and quartz curb. (The acrylic bathtubs are from Hytec and come with a Kohler shower kit.)

Chau says: “Wall Financial typically develops homes to higher standards than normal, but with Ivy on the Park, the quality of workmanship is truly spectacular. So not only is this an ideal building for young families and others attracted to Wesbrook Village and the campus lifestyle, it’s also great for buyers seeking a sound investment.”

Commitment to quality also extends to the balconies of each home, which offer incredible views over Pacific Spirit Park and the Strait of Georgia from the west-facing homes. The Trex decking is high performance and low maintenance; and for the townhomes, penthouse and three-bedroom suites, the balconies/patio/terraces feature dual-gas outlets, which enable residents to enjoy barbecue dinners and accommodate the installation of a gas-powered heat source for year-round entertaining.

Equal care has been expended by Wall Financial and Perkins+Will on the development of amenities. They include a peaceful study and library, a large meeting room, a music lounge, a fitness room and yoga studio, a community patio and a clubroom. A daytime concierge and a live-in resident manager are also provided to enhance residents’ enjoyment of living.

This, of course, is in addition to location-oriented amenities such as the nearby shops and cafes, direct access to Pacific Spirit Park, and all of the athletic and educational facilities offered by UBC. Cultural opportunities abound on campus, from evenings at the Chan Centre for opera and concerts, to art openings, museums and public lectures.

Although Chau encourages prospective buyers to visit the Ivy on the Park website (www.ivyonthepark.com), she also urges them to drop by and inspect the presentation centre at 5898 Gray Avenue, Wesbrook Village.

She concludes: “We’re so proud of this project coming from such a reputable developer, and buyers will understand why when they experience a preview of the Ivy on the Park in person.”

“The homes themselves exhibit the high degree of design elegance and functionality for which Wall Financial is renowned.”
