Mrs. Doubtfire off to Broadway

The 1993 comedy best known for Robin Williams’ performanc­e as a female nanny with a strong accent has been adapted to a stage musical, according to a report on The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday. Mrs. Doubtfire will première in Seattle this fall before beginning previews March 9 and officially opening April 5 at Broadway’s Stephen Sondheim Theatre, producer Kevin McCollum said. Rob McClure, who recently left Broadway’s Beetlejuic­e, will star as Daniel Hillard, the former voice actor who loses custody of his children and poses as their nanny to remain close to them.
