Mrs. Doubtfire off to Broadway

The 1993 comedy best known for Robin Williams’ performance as a female nanny with a strong accent has been adapted to a stage musical, according to a report on The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday. Mrs. Doubtfire will première in Seattle this fall before beginning previews March 9 and officially opening April 5 at Broadway’s Stephen Sondheim Theatre, producer Kevin McCollum said. Rob McClure, who recently left Broadway’s Beetlejuice, will star as Daniel Hillard, the former voice actor who loses custody of his children and poses as their nanny to remain close to them.
