Sabres’ Dahlin out with concussion
Rasmus Dahlin of the Buffalo Sabres is out indefinitely because of a concussion he sustained Monday. The 19-year-old defenceman took an elbow to the face from Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Erik Cernak in a 5-2 defeat. The NHL suspended Cernak two games and fined him $7,500, but he told reporters Wednesday he “didn’t mean to hurt Dahlin.” The Sabres undoubtedly will miss the offence provided by Dahlin, who was the No. 1 pick of the 2018 draft. In 24 games this season, he has one goal and 15 assists. Buffalo coach Ralph Krueger also said centre Vladimir Sobotka will be out “long term” after having surgery Tuesday on his right knee.
