Galecki brings Griswolds to TV

The Big Bang Theory’s Johnny Galecki, who played teenager Rusty Griswold in the 1989 comedy National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, will executive produce a TV spinoff series called The Griswolds, Variety reported Thursday. The sitcom based on the Vacation franchise will follow the family’s daily lives in suburban Chicago. It’s being developed by Warner Bros. Television to be picked up by the HBO Max streaming service set to debut in the U.S. in May. HBO Max content is to be available in Canada on Crave TV.
