MLB PLAY­ERS JOIN VIR­TUAL LEAGUE

Play­ers from all 30 Ma­jor League Base­ball teams are par­tic­i­pat­ing in a vir­tual base­ball league on the MLB The Show 20 plat­form that be­gan Fri­day night. Games will stream via Twitch and some could be broad­cast by MLB TV part­ners. Open­ing day on Fri­day saw Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Blake Snell play Cincin­nati Reds pitcher Amir Gar­rett. Rep­re­sent­ing the Toronto Blue Jays will be short­stop Bo Bichette, pic­tured. Also par­tic­i­pat­ing are Mil­wau­kee’s Josh Hader, San Diego’s Fer­nando Tatis Jr., San Fran­cisco’s Hunter Pence, Matt Car­pen­ter from St. Louis and Wash­ing­ton’s Juan Soto. The top eight play­ers will reach the post-sea­son, which cul­mi­nates in a May 2 World Se­ries. Sony In­ter­ac­tive En­ter­tain­ment and MLB, in co-op­er­a­tion with the play­ers as­so­ci­a­tion, will do­nate US$5,000 on be­half of each player to a Boys and Girls Club in their com­mu­nity.
