MLB PLAYERS JOIN VIRTUAL LEAGUE
Players from all 30 Major League Baseball teams are participating in a virtual baseball league on the MLB The Show 20 platform that began Friday night. Games will stream via Twitch and some could be broadcast by MLB TV partners. Opening day on Friday saw Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Blake Snell play Cincinnati Reds pitcher Amir Garrett. Representing the Toronto Blue Jays will be shortstop Bo Bichette, pictured. Also participating are Milwaukee’s Josh Hader, San Diego’s Fernando Tatis Jr., San Francisco’s Hunter Pence, Matt Carpenter from St. Louis and Washington’s Juan Soto. The top eight players will reach the post-season, which culminates in a May 2 World Series. Sony Interactive Entertainment and MLB, in co-operation with the players association, will donate US$5,000 on behalf of each player to a Boys and Girls Club in their community.
