VOLRICH, Doris Laverne (nee Bennett)

-

Oct. 4, 1933 - Apr. 30, 2020 Laverne passed away peacefully at Amica Arbutus Manor on April 30th. Born in Vancouver and a graduate of Kitsilano Secondary School, where she honed her skill and passion for tennis, Laverne was a force to be reckoned with. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Jack, treasured son Steven, brother Richard and parents Doris and Francis. Laverne will be greatly missed by her daughter Dana, sister-in-law Nelica, brother-in-law Daniel, nieces, nephew and dear friends. In addition to her love of tennis she was an avid gardener, talented seamstress, piano player, crafter and cook. Throughout their 56 years of marriage Laverne and Jack loved to entertain friends and family and were known to cut a pretty good rug dancing to their favourites Neil Diamond and Tom Jones. Together again, they've undoubtedly dusted off their dance shoes and tennis rackets without missing a beat. Sincere thanks to the dedicated staff at Amica for their eight years of kindness and care and to her physician Dr. Geoffrey Edwards. Given current distancing rules there will be no service however donations in her memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation at www.heartandstroke.ca
