Tree falls, kills boy during hike

A five-year-old Chilliwack boy has died after a tree fell on his group during a hike Tuesday afternoon. Police were called for the report of a tree that had fallen on a group of people during a hike on Kingfisher Trail in Yarrow. Officers arrived at the scene to find a five-year-old child had died due to the injuries he sustained from the fallen tree. A 22-year-old Abbotsford woman was also hurt and taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
