Chilliwack police seek truck driver
Police are searching for a commercial truck driver who may have witnessed a high-speed shooting last week involving a motorcyclist. Police were called around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 after a man arrived at Chilliwack General Hospital to be treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Officers learned that after a motorcyclist and the occupants of a dark-coloured SUV exchanged words, the suspects inside the SUV allegedly followed and shot the motorcyclist while travelling on Young Road near Hope River Road. Police believe there may have been a large truck driving the same route that was passed by the motorcycle and the SUV. Anyone who was travelling in the area of Menzies Street and Young Road or Hope River Road on Thursday between 7 and 10 p.m., is asked to come forward. “As police pursue our investigation, evidence gathered to this point indicates this was not a random act,” said Chilliwack RCMP Cpl. Mike Rail. Chilliwack RCMP urge anyone with information to contact police at 604-792-4611.
