Smartphone accessory company makes most expensive Tesla ever
A company that describes itself as “an international brand of exclusive designer smartphones and accessories handcrafted from luxury materials” has just announced a limited run of gold-plated US$300,000 Tesla Model S cars.
It might be making the world's most expensive Tesla, but Caviar Global clearly did not spare a lot of its budget for the art department in charge of visually hyping the ultraexpensive Caviar Model Excellence 24K.
The Tesla “concept car” is actually a Model S Plaid+ that's been painted an oil-black and had “999” gold (a.k.a. 24-carat) electroplated onto a bunch of elements.
The front bumper, grille, trunk spoiler, rear-view mirrors, side skirts, brake discs and rims have all been gilded.
Inside — who knows? The one photo provided reveals a dark dash with a gold-trimmed display screen and a gold-plated steering wheel insert.
The website's expert copywriters had this to say on the topic of materials and overall vibe: “We are confident that the synthesis of high technology and luxurious materials is exactly what you need.
“It's not just a car. It is the quintessence of sophistication, luxury and self-confidence.
“Dare to walk such a beast along the main streets of the city? Be careful, you can dazzle those around you with your splendour.”
Elsewhere on the Caviar website, you can purchase a pair of Air Jordans inlaid with gold and diamonds for US$15,380, a titanium vape pen with a bear on the case for US$1,520, or a diamond-encrusted iPhone case for US$8,910.
The Tesla Caviar Model Excellence 24K retails for US$299,999 and will be limited to a run of 99.
