Park-goers unlikely to haul picnic necessitie­s by bicycle

Re: After years of talking about it, it's time to fix Seaside Greenway

With all due respect to Lisa Slakov, people who are coming to parks for the afternoon are coming with blankets, towels, reading material, games, drinks and snacks. Whether singles or families, people aren't hauling these things on bicycles. Encouragin­g more active transporta­tion isn't going to change this.

People using the Seaside Greenway are there for exercise and to see the view. A slight detour on the Seaside Bypass up York Avenue is a minor inconvenie­nce and clearly safer than riding through a parking lot.
