Jewelry celebrates wonders of natural world

- ALEESHA HARRIS

Kingdom Jewelry was created out of a “mutual adoration of oldworld jewelry.”

Through the brand, co-founders Natasha Peck and Dylan Lee joined forces to create collectible fine jewelry pieces that are designed to “last beyond a lifetime,” according to Peck.

The brand recently opened a boutique at 2956 Granville St., and we caught up with Peck to learn more.

Q What is Kingdom?

A Kingdom is a mix of modern iterations of vintage pieces and found heirlooms from all over the world, with an emphasis on traditional Navajo and Southwest styles . ... Touching on designs that range from biker to boho, each style plays with a mix of time periods that reflect a current spirit. Most of our jewelry is unisex and includes chunky gemstone rings and pendants, finely crafted and trendy metalwork, such as chain necklaces, dagger earrings, and bracelets, as well as a great selection of curated vintage jewelry and signet rings.

The engagement series is our most recent collection and one we take pride in. Primarily made from high-quality metals and colourful gemstones, we were inspired by the spontaneity and beauty of love and the idea of having a ring ready for love's unpredictable events.

Q What makes it unique?

A Our community is incredibly unique and full of talented artisans across the globe, which we collaborate with and support on their endeavours and charitable causes. It's all in the name, Kingdom; an empire of brilliant individuals who make jewelry their livelihood, their passion and celebrate the wonders of the natural world.

Q What made this the right time to open a store?

A Opening a new store has been something in the making for a while now, as we wanted a space that speaks to the Kingdom brand while also keeping us in the neighbourhood where we are rooted.

Q What can shoppers expect to find in store?

A The idea was to incorporate that art deco charm we love, a little pinch of boho, and with a twist of a French patisserie. The sights, the sounds, and the scents are truly magical, where you'll be greeted by textiles, handmade hats, and the very best selection of jewelry and mineral specimens. It's all about the experience and we want to make it memorable, including those who are finding their forever piece. aharris@postmedia.com
