WARREN, Theresa Alice

January 25, 1938 - April 13, 2022

-

Theresa "Terry" Warren passed away peacefully, in North Vancouver, on April 13, 2022, at the age of 84.

Terry was predeceased by her infant son, Gary, in 1963, and her beloved husband, Ron, in 1993. She will be lovingly missed by her children, Mark (Sue), Lisa (Joe), Craig (Liane), and Brett (Mary); her grandchildren Matthew (Hailee), Jacqueline (Nathan), Claire, Kate (Aidan), Renee (Ollie), Jarrad (Becca), Ayden (Georga), Ethan (Olivia), and Emett; her great-grandchildren, Chase and Josie; her sister, Maureen; her sisters-in-law, Ernestine and Helle; her many nieces and nephews; and the surviving members of her large extended family.

Terry lived most of her life in the Vancouver area. She was born in St. Paul's Hospital, grew up in South Vancouver, and attended Mackenzie Elementary and St. Patrick's Schools. She met Ron, her soulmate, when they were each 14 years old, and they never parted until his death, over 40 years later.

Married in 1958, Ron and Terry made homes in Vancouver, on the remote Trutch Island off the North Coast of British Columbia, in Nanaimo, and finally, in North Vancouver, where they raised their children.

Terry had a long and happy life, centered around her family and her faith. She was an inspiration to her children. She doted on her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, and their affection for her ran deep. She was a devoted and much-loved member of St. Stephen's Catholic Parish in Lynn Valley, a community that sustained her through the heartbreak of Ron's premature death.

The last few months were challenging for Terry as she faced a series of health crises, but she gracefully persevered, with the support of family, friends, and her strong faith. Her family wishes to extend a special thank you to the many dedicated health professionals who worked hard to lighten her load and to specifically acknowledge the compassion and dedication of her GP, Dr. Kate Payne. We also wish to thank dear family friends, Marita Abelardo and Berna Abelardo, who generously provided Terry with tender care and love.

The unwavering love that Terry and Ron shared was legendary, and she is now joyfully reunited with him, after 29 years apart.

"More than yesterday, less than tomorrow."

Prayers will be offered on Thursday, April 21st, 2022 at 7:00 pm at St.Stephen's Catholic Church, 1360 East 24th Street, North Vancouver, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, April 22nd, 2022. Interment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Covenant House Vancouver in Terry's memory would be much appreciated.
