Timeless collection simplifies wardrobes

- ALEESHA HARRIS

The idea of a capsule wardrobe — a curated selection of pieces that can be seamlessly mixed, matched and worn on repeat — has been building buzz in recent years.

Centred around the aim of taking the guesswork out of dressing, the approach to style also pushes shoppers away from potentially wasteful, trend-based shopping.

Canadian entrepreneur Britt Barkwell is looking to further simplify the creation of the perfect capsule collection with her new collection, T.line. Under the umbrella of her brand Trouvaille, Barkwell offers limited-edition drops of timeless pieces — think silk scarves, cotton blouses — that will last season after season. We caught up with Barkwell to learn more.

Q. For those who aren't familiar, what is T.line?

A. Founded in 2018, Trouvaille is a lifestyle brand that empowers conscious and curated style. We believe in building thoughtful, edited essentials that last beyond one season. To support you in shopping less often and buying with more intention, we recently launched our beautifully crafted T.line collection. With a focus on minimalist elegance, modern silhouettes, and high-quality staples, T.line was born from our desire to source and design the pieces we ourselves want each season.

Q. What makes it unique?

A. T.line is released as quarterly capsules, each edition is designed to build on the last and can be effortlessly styled together while building an elevated collection of exclusive items — Edition No.001 launched in March, and Edition No.002 will be launching this June. Our collections are produced in limited runs, and once the capsule is sold out, it is gone.

Q. Who is the target customer?

A. Style-conscience women from roughly 25 to 50, with disposable income. She is busy building her career, growing her family, and fostering her personal and business relationships. She appreciates beautifully made essentials, but has very little time to spend searching online. She will use Trouvaille and our T.line essentials as a convenient and trusted resource for an expertly curated collection of “lucky finds.”

Q. What is the price range for T.line?

A. For the first capsule, prices range from $45 to $225. Our goal is to keep most items under $500. More info at trouvailleonline.com aharris@postmedia.com
