Jan 30, 1966 - May 28, 2022 With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Indira. Indira Kaur Fisher, age 56, of North Vancouver, BC, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 28, 2022. After successful­ly battling and beating cancer in 2019, it returned 3 years later in an aggressive manner. Indira was born on January 30, 1966, in Vancouver. She is survived by her parents Abtar Berar and Mahindar Kaur (Sangha) Berar, her husband of 30 years Jonathan David Fisher, son Ravi James Fisher, daughter Kaila Abby Fisher, brother Krishan Singh Berar (Lana), sister Ravena Kaur Haji (Deenu), beloved mother-in-law Maureen Gwyneth Fisher, brother-in-law Ian Fisher (Terry Lyn), and brother-in-law Mark Fisher (Borja). Indira is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Indira grew up in a large and respected Indian family whose grandparen­ts were pioneers establishi­ng a rich culture in Vancouver and Vancouver Island in the early 1900's. Many of her immediate family have inspiratio­nal stories that can be found in the book '100 Year Journey' - a story of Indian heritage in British Columbia. Throughout her life, Indira was known by all for her caring, compassion­ate personalit­y who put her family and friends first. She had an uncanny ability to carry on multiple conversati­ons at the same time giving each the individual attention they deserved.

Her funeral service will be held at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, located at 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022 at 11:30am. A Bhog and Antim Ardas will follow the service at 3:30pm at the Gurdwara Nanak Niwas, 8600 No. 5 Road, Richmond.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the BC Cancer Society or the Harvest Project in North Vancouver, where she devoted many volunteer hours.
