Anne Sportun has been a name in the Canadian jewelry industry for more than 30 years.

The CEO and designer behind the namesake fine jewelry line, Sportun taps into her training as a goldsmith to create natureinspired designs that have a unique, “understated elegance,” according to Sportun.

“Each design echoes organic grace, seamlessly integrating into life's daily rhythm,” she says.

We caught up with Sportun to learn more:

Q For those who aren't familiar, what is Anne Sportun?

A Anne Sportun is an iconic fine jewelry brand you can wear every day. My work is designed and handmade in Toronto at our Queen Street West location. I founded the brand in the late '80s and our journey reflects a deep-rooted passion for artisanal craftsmanship based on my training as a goldsmith. Specializing in alternative engagement, wedding rings and future heirloom pieces, Anne Sportun offers couples a unique expression of love and commitment by offering customized design services. Admired by discerning individuals like Sarah Polley and Jessica Biel, our jewelry is universal.

Q What makes it unique?

A What truly distinguishes Anne Sportun is our vertical integration — from design conception to manufacturing, everything happens under one roof. We ensure that each piece of our fashion and bridal jewelry is crafted to last a lifetime. My daughter Haley Woodbury now shares in the design work to express my vision of “precious, everyday,” elevating the everyday with jewelry you love to wear.

Q Who is the target customer?

A Our customers are typically women aged 16 to 75 who appreciate fine, handcrafted jewelry designed for everyday wear and lasting elegance. They are multi-generational, with the children of those who purchased their engagement and wedding ring from me now designing their bridal sets with my daughter, Haley.

Q What made this the right time to reveal a new boutique design?

A After 20 years in our 742 Queen St. West location and with Haley stepping up as my partner, it was time for a fresh look to mark this exciting new chapter.
