THE IT LIST
The news: The latest buzz in fashion retail.
Why we love it: It's been a busy few weeks in Vancouver retail. Here are a few of the buzziest things to happen.
Swiss watch brand Swatch has opened its first megastore in Vancouver. The retail space, located at 145 Robson St., features more than 400 timepieces from the brand. Yes, including the often sold-out Bioceramic Moonswatch — the mash-up between the approachably priced Swatch and the luxe Swiss watch brand Omega.
The brand already operates an outpost in Burnaby at Metrotown, but the new location features exclusive design details and a bigger footprint.
In other retail news, Guildford Town Centre has launched a complimentary personal shopping service.
Designed to help shoppers “discover the joy of fashion” while also streamlining their personal style, the Surrey shopping centre's customized service sees appointments available with two local fashion stylists, Sierra Crompton and Elizabeth Bull. Canadian jewelry brand Mejuri, which has stores in Kitsilano and West Vancouver, has launched a blooming new collection just in time for the warmer weather.
The aptly named Floral Necklace collection is a vintage-inspired line of heart, round and square-shaped pendants crafted from 18-karat gold vermeil. The delightful designs all feature pretty blooms such as the Calendula, Buttercup and Blossom. Hello, perfect spring jewelry piece!
The price: Assorted.
