Com­mu­ni­ty grants avai­lable

The South Na­tion Conser­va­tion Au­tho­ri­ty (SNC) is ac­cep­ting ap­pli­ca­tions for its 2018 Com­mu­ni­ty En­vi­ron­men­tal Grants Pro­gram. Any com­mu­ni­ty non-pro­fit com­mu­ni­ty group with an en­vi­ron­men­tal or re­crea­tio­nal project plan­ned in the South Na­tion Ri­ver wa­ter­shed re­gion is eli­gible to ap­ply for a grant of up to $300 to as­sist with their project. Grants ca­te­go­ries in­clude: ri­ver, he­ri­tage, agri-en­vi­ron­men­tal, and com­mu­ni­ty ou­treach. So far the SNC has ap­pro­ved 20 grants, to­ta­ling $6000 for such pro­jects as the Boi­sés Est Wood Fair, the Rus­sell His­to­ri­cal So­cie­ty’s He­ri­tage Fes­ti­val, the Crys­ler Ci­ti­zens Com­mit­tee Fun Run, and the Rus­sell KinC­lub’s an­nual Pout­mas­ter Fi­shing Der­by. The SNC al­so has en­vi­ron­men­tal aid grants avai­lable for lan­dow­ners under its Clean Water Pro­gram.
