ELECTION SIGNS ON COUNTY ROADS

Vision (Canada) - - Actualités • News -

The public works department for the United Counties of Prescott-Russell (UCPR) has a request for a change to the UCPR signage bylaw. The change, if approved, would ban election signage along county roads. The issue will come up for further discussion at the June 27 regular session of counties council. Municipalities may choose whether or not to ban election signage along their own streets but the municipal bylaw would not apply to county roads. The current UCPR bylaw does not forbid election signs along county roads, including those sections which pass through municipalities. – Gregg Chamberlain
