CLARENCE-ROCKLAND YMCA REOPENS
In the face of easing health restrictions, the YMCA has reopened for regular visitors.
The YMCA on Du Parc Avenue in Clarence-Rockland reopened at the beginning of February, and residents are excited to see the amenities available again. On the
Vision’s visit, the gym was full of people playing an enthusiastic game of basketball, and almost all the machines were occupied by people keeping up their fitness.
“We are so excited to be able to welcome back members of the Clarence-Rockland community to the Y,” said Tracey Ware, general manager with the YMCA-YWCA of the National Capital Region.
“We have had a wonderful response to being open again, and it has been great to see some familiar, and new faces!” she said. “There have been over 1600 visits to the Y since reopening, and as restrictions are easing and we are able to expand on the programs and services we offer, we expect that number to increase.”
YMCA programs and activities will continue to expand as health restrictions ease and more people are allowed in at once. Another lockdown may derail these plans, but for now, the YMCA staff is happy to be open for business again.
“So far, getting back to the pool, joining group fitness classes, and working out on our conditioning floor have been very popular, said Ware. “Members will be happy to know we will soon be able to increase our hours of operations, offering more options for families, child and youth programs, and swim lessons, as well!”
