Enjoy street art, multicultural food and music at festivals this weekend
WATERLOO REGION — Watch talented street artists wash historic Galt in colour this weekend or tour the world in Kitchener’s Victoria Park at the K-W Multicultural Festival. There’s a lot to do in Waterloo Region. Here’s a short list: The Cambridge International Street Art Festival returns this year with the hope of clear, blue skies. Watch graffiti artists take to Main Street in downtown Galt at this family-friendly event that will also include food, vendors, music and fun chalk activities for children. Celebrate all things francophone this weekend with the Association des Francophones de KitchenerWaterloo’s annual festival on Saturday. The festival will feature food trucks, family-friendly activities and have French books, DVDs and other products for sale.
It’s the 50th anniversary of the K-W Multicultural Festival, a local favourite that takes over Victoria Park with vibrant performances and delicious food each summer. Walk with refugees on Saturday and hear about their personal experiences on a route from Kitchener City Hall to Victoria Park. The two-kilometer walk will end in the park in time for the K-W Multicultural Festival’s opening ceremonies.
