Allegations of Dr. Sameh Adly Fikry’s professional misconduct were referred to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario’s discipline committee last December.
According to the hearing notice, it is alleged Fikry engaged in sexual abuse of and/or disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional conduct toward Patient A in early 2015, including inappropriate and/or sexual remarks during medical appointments and conducting examinations with inadequate draping or gowning.
It’s also alleged Fikry behaved unprofessionally with Patient B by making inappropriate and/or sexual remarks during appointments, engaging in sexual intercourse and/or oral sex, offering to prescribe narcotics and/or prescribing narcotics in exchange for sexual favours, and giving money, including to purchase narcotics.
He treated Patient B between about September 2010 and May 2015.
The hearing is scheduled for Feb. 20 to 21.
Pending a hearing before the discipline committee, Fikry will not be alone with any female patient.
Fikry will also post a sign in the waiting room and each patient room at his practice locations
It states: “Dr. Fikry will not have professional encounters, in person or otherwise, with female patients of any age, unless in the presence of a female practice monitor acceptable to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
“Dr. Fikry will not be alone with any female patient during any professional encounter.”
Fikry’s main office, according to the college’s website, is in Waterloo and he has another practice location in Kitchener.
